- Q: Do we register as individuals or as a team?
- A: We generally have you register as individuals as the roster will rotate so you play with and against new people every week. With that said, we also can accommodate groups!
- Q: I am new to the game, as I’m sure many others are, but I was just wondering about the amount of new vs. experienced players that will be on each team.
- A: Nearly everyone will be new to the sport, and many will be new to kayaking period. The skills in general can be picked up quickly. Also, players of different skill levels can easily play together.
- Q: Will the league be fairly competitive, or mostly focused on learning the sport?
- A: Competitiveness, or winning, is not the be all end all goal here. Our aim for you is to play, having fun while learning a new sport and set of skills in a safe, fun and encouraging environment. We don’t keep score (although you can) and the teams rotate every week so you’ll play with and against different people every week. Community is a key element to what Lincoln Kayak Polo is all about and good sportsmanship is mandatory. That isn’t to say that it will be physically easy or that their won’t be competition because there will be and it can be a very demanding sport, we just keep competition in balance with other elements that make for a great experience overall.
